WHAT:       The Greater Detroit Area Health Council’s annual Health Futures Conference will spotlight healthcare quality, industry transformation and the consumer’s role in medicine.

 WHO:        Keynote address will be delivered by Michael Millenson, president of Health Quality Advisors, and a nationally recognized expert on health care transparency and accountability, pay-for-performance, quality improvement and safety. He is the author of the critically acclaimed, Demanding Medical Excellence: Doctors and Accountability in the Information Age, and is The Mervin Shalowitz, M.D., Visiting Scholar at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management. Millenson has written for publications ranging from Health Affairs to USA Today, testified before Congress and spoken to health care organizations across the country. He will address the topic, “Medicine in the Information Age: Power, Empowerment and Partnership.”
