GDAHC Mission

As the region's leading health care coalition of leaders in business, labor, health care, health plans, government and consumers, GDAHC strives for continuous improvement in the quality, cost-effectiveness and accessibility of health care. We provide the forum for multi-stakeholder collaboration and partnerships to plan, develop and execute solutions for the future.

Overview

The Health Council focuses on programs and activities in the areas of quality, cost, and access.  We bring the diverse stakeholders in our region together, at a single table, to develop and implement strategies and approaches, develop consensus and share different perspectives.

Cost/Quality Department

  • Quality Improvement Initiatives
  • Cost Savings Projects
  • Public Reporting -- GDAHC has launched two public reports on health care performance -- a Hospital Performance Report and Physician Organization Performance Report -- at www.myCareCompare.org

Community Health Department

  • Community outreach for Plan First! program which provides family planning services for low-income women.
  • Healthcare Disparities
  • Community Health Assessments
  • Advocacy and education on issues related to access and the uninsured
  • Consumer enmpowerment
  • Help with Healthcare Brochure (produced in partnership with BCBSM)
